Terms and Conditions for Yapper

1. Introduction

Welcome to Yapper ("App"), a mobile application owned and operated by SOFTOO LTD ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), registered at The Porter Building, 1 Brunel Way, SLOUGH - SL1 1FQ, United Kingdom. By accessing, downloading, or using our App, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, please refrain from using our App.

2. Eligibility

Yapper is intended for general entertainment use. You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age of digital consent in your country) to use this App. If you are under the legal age, you represent that you have obtained explicit permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the App.

3. Description of Service

Yapper provides personalized, humorous insights, roasts, and entertainment statistics based on imported WhatsApp chat histories. All insights generated are computer-generated fiction intended strictly for entertainment and novelty purposes; they do not possess any scientific, psychological, or factual accuracy.

4. How Your Chat Recap - Yapper Works & Privacy Protection

  • Data Import: You can export your WhatsApp chat history and import it into Yapper for analysis.

  • Local Anonymization: To safeguard your privacy, Yapper programmatically strips out phone numbers and real names locally on your device, replacing them with anonymous placeholders (such as User A and User B) before any external transmission occurs.

  • Ephemeral Cloud Analysis: The anonymized text is securely transmitted via encrypted HTTPS to advanced cloud infrastructure (Google Vertex AI) for real-time processing. Your chat files are processed on-the-fly and are instantly discarded from cloud memory once the analysis is generated. We do not store, log, or retain your chat data on external servers.

  • Local Display: Anonymous placeholders are mapped back to names exclusively within your device's local memory for display.

5. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

Yapper offers premium insights and features through auto-renewable subscriptions or one-time purchases via the Apple App Store.

  • Payment Processing: All payments are processed exclusively through your Apple ID account. By making a purchase, you authorize Apple to charge your selected payment method.

  • Auto-Renewable Subscriptions: Subscriptions renew automatically unless turned off in your Apple ID Account Settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time within your App Store subscription settings.

  • Refunds: All refund requests are subject to Apple’s official policies. Since transactions are managed directly by Apple, you must contact Apple Support (via reportaproblem.apple.com) to request a refund. SOFTOO LTD cannot directly process refunds for purchases made through the App Store.

6. User Conduct

By using Your Chat Recap - Yapper, you agree to:

  • Use the App for lawful, personal, and non-commercial entertainment purposes only.

  • Obtain necessary consent from all participants in any chat history you upload. You will not upload private communications of individuals who have not consented.

  • Not harm, disrupt, or interfere with the App's functionality or backend systems.

  • Not use AI-generated insights for harassment, defamation, or misrepresentation.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality—including prompt templates, UI designs, logos, and algorithms—are the exclusive property of SOFTOO LTD. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive right to view and share screenshots of your generated insights for personal social media use.

8. Limitation of Liability

Yapper is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOFTOO LTD and its associates shall not be liable for any damages, including emotional distress or social disputes, resulting from the interpretation of computer-generated humor or insights.

9. Data Sharing with Platforms During Refund Evaluation

To prevent fraudulent misuse, we reserve the right to share limited, non-personal diagnostic information with Apple if you submit a formal refund request. This data is strictly limited to general app usage patterns and purchase consumption status. No personal messages or sensitive identifiers are shared.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App instantly for any reason, including a breach of these Terms or suspected unauthorized data scraping.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United Kingdom.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
