This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). a. Local Processing & Data Anonymization Your Chat Recap - Yapper operates on a privacy-first model using on-device security. When you import your WhatsApp chat history, the App automatically performs the following local actions before any external transmission:

• Identity Masking: Real names and phone numbers are scrubbed and replaced with anonymous placeholders (e.g., User A, User B) within your device’s local memory. Your actual identities never leave your device.

• Context Preservation: Only non-personal message text and timestamps are preserved for AI analysis.

b. Ephemeral Cloud Processing To generate insights, the anonymized/masked text is transmitted to cloud AI services (Google Vertex AI):

• Encryption: Data is transmitted using industry-standard HTTPS protocols.

• Zero Retention: The AI processes the text on-the-fly and discards it from memory immediately upon completion. We do not store or log your chat content on our servers.

c. Usage Data & Analytics We collect non-personal, anonymous data to improve app performance:

• Device type, operating system version, and app crash logs.

• Usage statistics to understand feature popularity.

3. Third-Party Services

We partner with standard services for app infrastructure:

• Firebase / Google Analytics: Used for performance monitoring and crash reporting.

• Qonversion: Used for securely managing in-app purchases and subscriptions.

4. How We Use Your Data

• To generate personalized insights/templates based on your anonymized input.

• To map placeholders back to your original names exclusively on your device’s screen.

• To monitor app functionality and provide technical support.

• To process and verify your in-app purchases and subscription status.

5. Data Retention

• Chat Data: Yapper does not retain or store your chat data. It is processed locally and discarded immediately after use.

• Analytics/Purchase Data: Retained only as long as necessary to provide service or as required by legal/tax obligations in the UK.

6. Data Security

We implement technical measures like local masking and transport layer encryption. However, please note that no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for the physical security of your device and your App Store account credentials.

7. Your Data Protection Rights

Under GDPR and UK data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your data. Since Yapper does not retain your personal chat data, there is no personal chat data for us to provide or delete.
